No matter how far along in your dating timeline or relationship there are a few things that we feel you always need to do before having a woman over to your place.
Your Bathroom.
It doesn’t have to smell like arm and hammer but please clean the urine stains off your toilet and floor. Two minutes with a spray container of Vim and a sponge and you’re set.
Tidy your shit.
She knows you’re a bachelor and doesn’t expect you to live in a clean room, but you do need to pick all the dirty laundry off your floor and put it somewhere (perhaps your hamper?). Even behind your closet door is a little better than having it thrown everywhere.
Also, if you don’t have your dishes done, at least make an effort to put them by the sink – it’s one thing to have a water glass sitting in your living room, but three days worth of dishes sitting in front of your TV is pretty gross.
Stock your wine.
If you invite a girl over for a drink you should probably have something in your apartment to drink. A small glass of wine can make the world of a difference in conversation and even holding the glass will make you feel more comfortable.
Give a heads up.
If you don’t live alone, make sure to tell her that you have roommates and that they may be home (if that is the case). Also, make sure to tell your roommates so they aren’t rocking out to rock band in their underwear.
